Client: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
Challenge: Write an article that detailed how one doctor was volunteering to give COVID vaccines at a clinic.
Solution: The COVID vaccine was an inflammatory subject when they first came out. To counter that, I wanted to focus on the community feel of hundreds of people in a room waiting for a vaccine during an historic time. Client: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
Challenge: Write an article telling the stories of those who had lost those they loved during COVID.
Solution: Many people died during the COVID epidemic, but these were stories of people I knew. It was heartbreaking to write them, but I was honored to help these strong souls tell their about their loved ones’ death. I’m grateful to them for sharing their experiences.
Mission: School Supplies Drives
Client: Holy Trinity Lutheran Church
Challenge: Write an article detailing the needs and then the changing plans as the mission evolved.
Solution: The School Supplies Drives were a beautiful and fun event inspired by a local teacher who answered me honestly when I asked what she needed. “The kids need to come in with backpacks already full. If they come to school without a backpack or to my office for supplies, they are already marked by their peers.” We changed our format to an event where parents, students, and guardians could “shop” and pick up their free school supplies and backpacks. When COVID hit, it became a drive-through service.
